4 Days Tanzania Budget Camping Safari to Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park & Ngorongoro Crater

Your Tanzania safari adventure begins in the morning at approximately 8:30 AM, when you depart from Arusha with your professional driver-guide. You will travel towards Tarangire National Park with your packed lunch.

Covering approximately 2,600 km², an area roughly the size of Luxembourg, Tarangire is famous for its dramatic landscapes, seasonal swamps, open savannahs, and magnificent ancient baobab trees.

The park is home to an impressive variety of wildlife, including Masai giraffes, buffaloes, hartebeest, eland, fringe-eared oryx, and the unusual long-necked gerenuk, as well as more than 550 species of birds.

However, Tarangire is particularly famous for its large elephant herds. During your game drive, you may encounter groups of up to 300 elephants moving through the park, drinking at water sources, feeding beneath the baobabs, or passing remarkably close to your safari vehicle.

After an extensive game drive, you will continue to Fig Campsite for your overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will depart for the legendary Serengeti National Park with your packed lunch. The journey itself is part of the adventure as you travel through the spectacular Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Along the way, you may have the opportunity to stop and enjoy a breathtaking view over the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Tanzania's most remarkable natural landmarks, before continuing towards the Serengeti.

The name Serengeti means “endless plains” in the language of the Maasai, and once you enter the park, it is easy to understand why. Vast grasslands stretch towards the horizon, interrupted by distinctive rocky formations known as kopjes, which provide excellent vantage points for predators and other wildlife.

Depending on the season, you may also witness part of the spectacular migration, when thousands of animals move across the Serengeti in search of fresh grazing and water.

You will arrive at your campsite in the Seronera Valley in the central Serengeti in the late afternoon after a game drive through the central Serengeti. You will then settle into your campsite for the night, surrounded by the sounds and atmosphere of the African wilderness.

After breakfast, you will set out for another exciting game drive in Serengeti National Park. The morning offers another opportunity to discover wildlife that you may not have encountered on the previous day.

The Serengeti is home to Africa's famous Big Five – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard. Depending on wildlife movements and luck, today may provide opportunities to see members of this iconic group in their natural environment.

After your game drive, you will continue towards the Ngorongoro Crater.

As you approach the crater rim, the landscape changes dramatically. When you reach the edge of the crater, the enormous caldera opens up before you, creating one of the most spectacular views in Tanzania.

The approximately 20-kilometre-wide crater is home to more than 25,000 animals, creating an extraordinary concentration of wildlife within its natural walls.

Tonight, you will stay at Simba Campsite, located directly on the crater's edge. Enjoy the fantastic views over the caldera before spending the night in this remarkable setting.

Rise and shine! After breakfast at daybreak, you will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater with your packed lunch for your final and highly anticipated game drive.

Often described as one of Africa's great wildlife destinations, the crater is actually the world's largest intact caldera. Its diverse habitats support an extraordinary range of animals and birdlife.

During your game drive, you may encounter black rhinos, Grant's gazelles, Thomson's gazelles, lions, leopards, elephants, and mountain reedbucks in the forests on the crater slopes.

You may also see buffaloes, spotted hyenas, rare wild dogs, and some of the more than 500 bird species found in the area.

After an intensive game drive, you will leave the crater in the late afternoon and begin your drive back to Arusha, bringing your unforgettable 4-day Tanzania safari adventure to an end.
