3 Days Budget Shared Safari to Serengeti National & Ngorongoro Crater

Your safari begins at approximately 06:00 am, departing from Arusha for the spectacular Serengeti National Park. With your packed lunch, you will travel through the beautiful landscapes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Along the way, you may have the opportunity to stop at a viewpoint overlooking the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater. From the crater rim, the breathtaking scenery offers a memorable introduction to the natural wonders ahead before you continue toward Serengeti National Park.

The name Serengeti means “endless plains” in the language of the Maasai, and you will quickly understand why. Vast grassland savannah stretches seemingly without end toward the horizon, creating one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife landscapes.

As you explore the park, you will encounter the fascinating kopjes large, weathered rock formations rising from the plains. These distinctive landmarks provide important resting and lookout points for wildlife, and predators are often spotted around them.

Depending on the season, you may also witness the spectacular movement of thousands of animals during the famous Great Migration, one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife experiences.

After an exciting game drive through the Central Serengeti, you will arrive at your campsite in the Seronera Valley in the late afternoon. Enjoy dinner and settle in for your overnight stay beneath the African night sky.

After breakfast, begin another exciting game drive in Serengeti National Park. The morning offers a fresh opportunity to discover wildlife you may not have encountered on the previous day.

The Serengeti is home to Africa’s famous Big Five – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard – and depending on wildlife movements and luck, you may have the opportunity to see members of this iconic group during today’s game drive.

Continue exploring the Serengeti before stopping at a picnic site for lunch. After lunch, your journey continues toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

As you approach the Ngorongoro Crater, the scenery becomes increasingly dramatic. Once you reach the crater edge, the vast caldera opens before you, revealing an extraordinary natural landscape below.

The approximately 20-kilometre-wide crater is home to more than 25,000 animals, making it one of the most remarkable wildlife areas in Tanzania.

You will spend the evening at Simba Campsite, located directly on the crater’s edge. Here, you can enjoy dinner while surrounded by spectacular views across the Ngorongoro Caldera before settling in for the night.

Rise and shine! After an early breakfast at daybreak, you will descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater with your packed lunch for an unforgettable morning of wildlife viewing.

Inside the world’s largest caldera, you will explore a remarkable natural ecosystem where an incredible diversity of wildlife lives.

During your game drive, you may encounter black rhinos, Grant’s gazelles, Thomson’s gazelles, lions and leopards, as well as elephants and mountain reedbucks in the forests on the crater slopes.

The crater is also home to buffaloes, spotted hyenas, rare wild dogs, and an impressive variety of birdlife, with some 500 bird species found in the area.

After an intensive game drive and a picnic lunch surrounded by the spectacular crater scenery, you will leave the caldera and begin your journey back to Arusha, bringing your memorable 3-day Tanzania safari adventure to an end.
