3 Days Shared Safari to Tarangire, Ngorongoro & Lake Manyara National Park

Your safari adventure begins in the morning at approximately 06:00 AM, when you depart from Arusha with your experienced driver-guide and a packed lunch. You will travel towards Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s most beautiful and distinctive wildlife destinations.

Covering approximately 2,600 km², an area roughly the size of Luxembourg, Tarangire is characterized by open savannah, seasonal swamps and impressive giant baobab trees. The park provides a habitat for an extraordinary variety of wildlife, including Masai giraffes, buffaloes, hartebeest, eland, fringe-eared oryx and the unusual long-necked gerenuk. It is also home to more than 550 species of birds, making it an exciting destination for both wildlife and bird enthusiasts.

Tarangire is especially famous for its large elephant herds, with groups of up to 300 elephants roaming across the park. This makes it one of the best places in East Africa to observe these magnificent animals in their natural environment and experience memorable close encounters.

After your packed lunch, continue with an extensive game drive, exploring the park’s diverse landscapes while looking for elephants and other wildlife. As the day comes to an end, you will leave the park and drive to Fig Camp Site, where you will enjoy dinner and spend the night camping under the African sky.

After breakfast, you will depart for the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, one of Tanzania’s most extraordinary wildlife destinations. Upon arrival, you will descend into the crater with your packed lunch for an unforgettable game-viewing experience.

Inside this world’s largest caldera, a remarkable concentration of wildlife lives within the crater’s varied landscapes. During your game drive, you may encounter black rhinos, Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles, lions and leopards, as well as elephants and mountain reedbucks in the forests on the crater slopes.

The crater is also home to buffaloes, spotted hyenas, rare wild dogs and an impressive variety of birdlife, with more than 500 bird species recorded in the area. The combination of abundant wildlife, dramatic scenery and the unique enclosed ecosystem makes a game drive here a truly memorable part of your Tanzania safari.

Enjoy your picnic lunch inside the crater while surrounded by the extraordinary natural scenery. After an intensive game drive, you will leave the caldera in the afternoon and drive to Fig Camp Site near Manyara Park.

Upon arrival, settle into camp, enjoy dinner and relax after another exciting day in the wilderness.

After breakfast, you will continue your safari to Lake Manyara National Park, a smaller but remarkably diverse national park known for its rich birdlife, lush forests and scenic landscapes. You will travel with a packed lunch for the day.

Lake Manyara National Park is home to more than 400 bird species and features primate-filled forests, open grassy plains and the beautiful alkaline Lake Manyara itself. Large areas of the park are covered by the lake, which attracts colonies of flamingos and numerous other water birds.

As you explore the park on an extensive game drive, you may encounter elephants, giraffes, hippos, wildebeests and impalas. The forests near the lake are also alive with teeming groups of noisy monkeys and baboons, adding to the lively atmosphere of this unique ecosystem.

After an extensive game drive, you will begin your journey back to Arusha in the afternoon, bringing your 3-day Tanzania safari adventure to an end.
