2 Days Budget Shared Camping Safari to Tarangire National Park & Ngorongoro Crater

Our safari adventure begins in the morning at 06:00 AM, when you will depart from Arusha with your professional driver-guide and travel towards Tarangire National Park. A packed lunch will be provided for you to enjoy during your day in the wilderness.

Covering approximately 2,600 km², Tarangire National Park is roughly the size of Luxembourg and is renowned for its distinctive landscapes, enormous baobab trees, seasonal swamps, and abundant wildlife. As you enter the park, the scenery quickly changes into classic African savannah, creating the perfect setting for an exciting game drive.

Tarangire is home to an impressive variety of wildlife, including Masai giraffes, buffaloes, hartebeest, eland, fringe-eared oryx, the unusual long-necked gerenuk, and more than 550 species of birds.

However, the true stars of Tarangire are its elephants. The park is famous for its large elephant herds, with groups of up to 300 animals roaming across the landscape. It is considered one of the best places in East Africa to see elephants and experience these magnificent giants at close range in their natural environment.

Enjoy an extensive game drive through the park, taking time to observe wildlife, photograph the beautiful landscapes, and appreciate the incredible diversity of Tarangire.

After the game drive, you will leave the park and continue to Fig Camp Site, where you will enjoy dinner and your overnight stay, surrounded by the atmosphere of the African wilderness.

After breakfast, your adventure continues as you drive towards the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. You will descend into the crater with a packed lunch, ready for another memorable day of wildlife viewing.

The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest caldera and provides an extraordinary natural environment where a remarkable concentration and diversity of wildlife can be found.

Inside the crater, you may encounter black rhinos, Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles, lions and leopards, elephants, and mountain reedbucks moving through the forests and open areas along the crater slopes. You may also see buffaloes, spotted hyenas, rare wild dogs, and many other fascinating species.

The area is also home to more than 500 bird species, making the crater an exciting destination for both wildlife enthusiasts and bird lovers.

Enjoy an intensive game drive across the crater floor, taking in the spectacular scenery and searching for wildlife in this extraordinary natural ecosystem. You will stop for a picnic lunch during the day before continuing your wildlife experience.

In the afternoon, you will leave the caldera and begin your journey back to Arusha. You will arrive in Arusha in the early evening, marking the end of your unforgettable 2-day Tanzania safari.
